To make the Shivaree a reality, we have created a roadmap.
The road map is divided into four phases, each lasting roughly 6 months:

Phase One: Feasibility & Broad strokes
Timeline: Second half of 2024
The first six months revolve around making contacts and consultations to determine whether the concept is feasible. The aim is to gain insight into a number of themes that form the basis of the event.
For example, which countries could participate and roughly how many participants the Shivaree could expect. Another theme is which organisations would want to support us and in what capacity.
Other important themes are more of a practical nature. For example, we assess the possibility of receiving subsidies, create an initial budget and draw up plan of approach. This phase concludes with working out vacancies for the following 18 months. By 01-01-2025, we want to be clear about whether the event is feasible, how much enthusiasm there is and what roles need to be filled in the organisation to make it happen.
Phase Two:
Set-up & Teambuilding
Timeline: First half of 2025
The second phase will start with getting the plan of approach and budget approved. After approval, the Planning Team will be responsible for the implementation of phase two, three and four, further developing the concept into a plan and, at the same time, recruiting volunteers to run the event. At the end of the second phase, we want to have a team ready to execute the Shivaree with ready with a clear plan of action and procedures for everything from disasters to offensive behavior.

Phase Three: Contingents & Program development
Timeline: Second half of 2025 (timeline is subject to change)
As the third phase begins, the script for the shivaree is created. This includes creating detailed plans and budgets for specific components, reservations for the major expenses and roadmaps. In addition, during this period we want to work out what support the event requires. Finally, we want to have a commitment from national student scouting organisations that they will be coming to the Shivaree!
By the end of this phase, we want to have the event in its entirety on paper and, for the major components, have the reservations, roadmaps and budgets completed.

Phase Four:
Sign-up & Shivaree!
Timeline: First half of 2026 (timeline is subject to change)
The fourth phase will start with the ticket sale for the Shivaree! During this phase, plans will need to be adjusted based on information from participants and changes that occur. We will start processing participant data and working out practicalities that were not possible before.

When can I sign up?
There is no sign-up date as of yet. leave your contact info here and we will let you know when we have more info!
Who can participate?
Any Student Scout who is a member of a national Student Scouting organisation (for example: SSN, SSAGO and PfAU) can participate if the national Student Scouting organisation has signed up for the Shivaree.
Any Student Scout in a country without a National Student Scouting organisation can sign up for our participation info to get more info in this later. Do you want to keep up-to-date even better? Sign up for our updates maillist! (You can also start your own national organisation)
Are you a student and a Scout but not a Student Scout? Sign up with a local Student Scouting Group or start your own group! In the mean time you can sign up for our participation info because we might be able to facilitate your participation.
